Rant for Kenya
Kenya is where we plant your trees.

Kenya is in the Eastern part of Africa. Our reforesting projects are throughout Central & Western Kenya. Kenya is home to more than 70 different ethnic communities and 80 different dialects. The official languages of the country are English & Swahili (thanks to Disney, everyone knows how to speak at least a few words of Swahili: Simba actually does mean lion and hakuna matata actually does mean ‘no worries’… So now you’re set to be nonchalant in Kenya if you ever visit).
The forests there hold home to hundreds of different animal species. But the percentage of forest covering Kenya has decreased markedly. Only 3% of Kenya’s original forest is still around. There has been extensive logging and deliberate fire-starting for the purpose of land clearance, hurting much of the forest’s inhabitants. This dwindling forest coverage has had a severe effect on Kenya.
So, we want to rebuild these forests.
Our trees planted with Plant-It 2020 are protected by contract from being cut down. Our seedlings being planted were not obtained for free or at low-cost through grants or other means. They are either purchased from tree nurseries or they are grown from seed beds until they have reached generous height & health for transplanting. Our trees planted are indigenous to the area, so they survive better than most. If a maintenance plan is needed, one is set in place before the trees get planted.
So, to hell with it, what do we have to lose? If we can help this country rebuild their forests, then we should.
We think big, you do too. Let’s build.
